Book fans; I don't know, if like me, you were disappointed in Season One with the shows take on Claire's ring from Jamie. In the books it is an intricate design of Scottish thistles on a band with an engraving on the inside (Da Mi Basia Mille).
The show producers had a point. Where would Jamie get such a thing at Leoch in the 1740s? If they'd been in France one could see him popping down to a jewelry maker and getting a lovely piece such as this but at Leoch? I suppose that was some of the magic in the book but I got their point even if I didn't like the look of the ring they gave us (I did like that it was made from the king to Lallybroch).
But we could see a change in the ring in the future....
This is Sam Hoare. He's been in things like Captain America: The First Avenger, Legend, and The Golden Compass. And there is a possibility he's going to be playing Harold Grey who is Lord John Grey's older brother.
Harold Grey is Duke of Pardloe, Earl of Melton and Colonel of the 46th Regiment of Foot. He is also the older brother of Lord John Grey.
Starz hasn't confirmed this speculation but this cryptic tweet from Hoare got him a lot of Outlander fan followers...
Could HA and GR mean Hal Grey?
