Canadians, you've probably already seen it. We all know that when a channel doesn't give us the show we want we find other ways to watch it. Plus I'm pretty sure fan would just buy the season outright. But for those of you still waiting for Season 3; the end to your wait is insight.
Outlander is coming to Netflix on August 10. That gives you plenty of time to watch it before Season 4 comes along... hopefully you don't have to wait to watch it though I'm thinking those other methods will come in handy.
Just give us all the show together, Starz!
UPDATE 8/16/18: So it is official. Geez.
UPDATE 8/7/18: Starz took down this video on Twitter and Facebook and replaced it with the ambiguous one. So either that airdate is wrong or they never meant to leak that info. I'm leaving the countdown but will change it if necessary.
Sneaky Starz released this teaser trailer last week with the ambiguous return date of November. Then Friday Starz posted this revised teaser to Twitter and Facebook only the return date now says November 4.
Looks like Outlander is returning on November 4 and Starz just wanted to wait and see how long it took us to get the buzz going. Buzz away.
Let the countdown begin:
We have renewal people! Starz confirmed on their twitter account not only the renewal of Season 5 but Season 6 as well. Book fans will know that if they continue down this path of a book a season that will take us into A Breath of Snow and Ashes. However, Ron Moore has mused that they are considering splitting books up just to be able to really get into the action of what is to come in the series.
But their tweet has another unexpected bit of news. They announced that they didn't want to wait until Season 4 started in November to tell us about the renewal of 5 & 6. Or was that their sneaky way of telling us that September just isn't an option but hey you are going to get an additional 2 seasons!
Either way. I'm actually happy. I'd rather Outlander not start with all the fall shows as it makes life very overwhelming. But then having Outlander on during Thanksgiving and Christmas is also a bit overwhelming but also really great gifts from Starz. I'll take it.
The following will contain NO spoilers for the upcoming season though it might have a few for Seasons 1-3 if you've not watched them.
Droughtlander seems dry and long even if it isn't quite as long as it has been in the past. So I thought I'd remind everyone what we do know about the upcoming season of Outlander.
When Will Season 4 Premiere?
There has been no premiere date set as of yet but considering production of Season 4 started directly after Season 3 (in some cases at the same time) then it is safe to say we aren't looking at an 18 month droughtlander. In fact, it is highly likely we are going to be looking at a fall release for Season 4 because show-runner Ron Moore told EW back in 2017 that they hoped to have new seasons every fall.
Bell Media has signed a multi-year content deal with Starz, the No. 2-ranked premium paid U.S. television platform.
As part of the deal, the channel The Movie Network Encore will get Starz branding next year.
Individual Starz shows have aired in Canada for years, including “Outlander,” which will remain on the Corus-owned specialty channel W in Canada, and “Black Sails.”
The brand new Starz spy thriller “Counterpart” launched Sunday on CraveTV. Starz has more on the way, including a new adaptation of “Howards End.”
Great news, we've got some title, air date and production information for you.
Episode 301: The Battle Joined (September 10, 2017) written by Ronald D. Moore and direced by Brendan Maher.
“After living through the Battle of Culloden, Jamie finds himself at the mercy of unforgiving British victors, until a connection from his past provides his only hope of survival. Meanwhile, a pregnant Claire attempts to adjust to life in the modern world of 1940s Boston – and life with Frank.”
Starz announced via Twitter the Season 3 Premiere will be coming to us September 10, 2017 which is a Sunday rather than Saturday. Along with an amazing poster and LIVE video poster....
Outlander is coming to traditional television in the UK. Channel 4 has secured the linear broadcast rights to Starz’s time-travel drama for their digi-net More4 after striking a deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television, TVWise has learned. The show’s first season will launch on More4 later this month.
A fierce bidding war for Outlander broke out when the series hit the international market in late 2014/early 2015, which Amazon Prime Video UK eventually won. This deal between Channel 4 and Sony Pictures Television has no impact on Amazon Prime Video UK’s first window deal and they will air the third season within 24 hours of the U.S. broadcast later this year.
