Starz subscribers will be getting a chance to time travel… sort of. The premium network announced Tuesday that the premiere of Outlander season 2 will be available starting Thursday, April 7, exclusively to subscribers, two days before the episode airs.
The announcement comes on the heels of the network’s unveiling of a streaming service that allows subscribers to download episodes onto applicable devices, as well as an app that can be authenticated for viewing, for $8.99 per month. The service, launched Tuesday, is the first of its kind to offer downloading capability.
Subscribers can watch the episode on the Starz streaming app or Starz.com, as well as on other on-demand and online platforms. For everyone else, the 13-episode second season of the sci-fi historical drama based on Diana Gabaldon’s series premieres on April 9 at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.
I'm so glad this is only 5 days away! And that song. I love it.

Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe), the heroine of “Outlander,” is a woman with a mission. The Scottish time traveler knows her 18th-century husband, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), dies on the battlefield of Culloden at the hands of the French. In the series’ second season, she wants to stop the course of history, traveling from Inverness to Paris to infiltrate high society—break out the corsets—and prevent the Jacobite rebellion that aimed to restore the exiled House of Stuart to the thrones of England, Scotland and Ireland. Can Claire save her man? Executive producer Ronald D. Moore discussed Season 2 with The Post.
