Brianna Ellen Randall Fraser is a striking, redheaded young lady, strong-minded and intelligent beyond her years (traits inherited from both her mother and father), with a distinctly scholastic mind-set and a healthy dose of Fraser stubbornness. Now she needs to come to terms with the fact that her father isn't the man she's known all her life but a man who lived and died nearly 200 years in the past.
Brianna Fraser (SOPHIE SKELTON)
Brianna is portrayed by actress Sophie Skelton. Sophie Alexandra Skelton was born and raised in Woodford, England, UK. She is the youngest of three, with two older brothers Sam and Roger (ironic no?). Her parents, Simon and Ruth Skelton, are both toy inventors. Having completed her A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Maths she turned down her University offers to pursue her career as an actor, being the first in the family to go into acting.
Skelton has appeared in TV series including Doctors, DCI Banks Waterloo Road and Foyle’s War. She most recently appeared on BBC drama Casualty – Forsaking All Others and will next be seen in action-adventure series Ren. On the film side, she’ll appear in upcoming feature Another Mother’s Son, directed by Christopher Menaul, followed by Ladybird, directed by Tim Fellingham and Charlotte Stente Nelson.
In Season Two, Brianna arrives in Scotland with her mother Claire at the home of Roger Wakefield. Claire has learned of the passing of Rev. Wakefield and has come to pay her respects. After Claire invites them to stay at Roger's home, Brianna sets out to help Roger deal with the Reverend's belongings but ends up finding out about her mother's disappearance and long absence from the man she believes is her father. Upon doing the math, Brianna realizes Frank Randall can't be her biological father and confronts her mother.
Claire tells Brianna the truth, that her father is a 18th century Scottish warrior who died at the Battle of Culloden, as Claire believes it. Brianna thinks her mother is insane but after an encounter with Gillian Edgars, known to Claire as Geillis Duncan, and the standing stones; Brianna can't help but believe her mother is a time traveler and that she herself has the same ability.
By the closing of Season Two, Brianna and Claire are told by Roger that Jamie didn't die at the Battle of Culloden.
In Season Three, Brianna helps Roger track down Jamie in history to help her mother get back to her soulmate.
Jamie and Claire make it to the Colonies after rescuing Young Ian. There is no turning back so they must make the best of it and it just so happens Jamie's Aunt Jocasta lives in North Carolina. Jamie is determined to make a place in the Colonies for his family. Surprises await when Jamie meets his time traveling daughter and discovers her own trials and their results.
Jamie enlists the help of Young Ian to ward off threats to his daughter and family and in the process loses the nephew who is like a son to him.
Jamie has come to terms with his new son-in-law and is totally besotted by his grandson. Now the Fraser's head to the Clan Gathering where politics, religion and weddings are the name of the game.
With the start of tensions in the Colonies, Jamie must decide when it is the right time to declare for the American Colonists against the British.
Jamie's life is threaten when he's bit by a snake and new settlers come to Fraser's Ridge.
It finally seems like things are settling down, when violence comes to the Ridge in the form of a gang who attacks Marsali and abducts Claire. Jamie won't stand for it and woe to anyone who harms his Sassenach.
After saving Claire, Jamie and Claire's peace is shaken when Claire falls ill and Malva Christie claims the child she carries is Jamie's. But when Malva turns up murdered, Claire is the prime suspect.
Jamie and Claire join the American Revolution. They see famous battles, famous historical figures and Jamie's British son. But pain hits home when Jamie and Claire return to Scotland to bring a distant relative home only to find Ian ill and Jenny at odds with Claire. Jamie stays in Scotland to remain by Ian's side in his final days while Claire and Young Ian return to the Colonies.
After Ian's death, Jamie and Jenny go to France, planning to sail to the Colonies only to be left behind by their ship. Unbeknownst to Lord John and Claire who find out the ship Jamie and Jenny were supposed to be one went down with all souls lost.
Jamie returns to the Colonies to find his wife married to Lord John, his son Fergus's family in danger, his friend Lord John claiming carnal knowledge of his wife, and his illegitimate son realizing exactly who his father is. Now Jamie has to navigate through pain, plots and paternal hatred all while trying to get home to the Ridge and work with George Washington.
